It all began in the early 1900’s
with one man and a dream.
During the early 1900’s Giulia and her three sons, Seferino, Carmine and Giuseppe Amalfitano left their home in Sicily Italy for America. They left Italy in search of freedom, prosperity and the American dream. Along with many other Italian immigrants they took their first steps on U.S. soil on the now infamous Ellis Island. Upon arriving in New York they changed their last name to Malfitany which they thought Americanized it and was symbolic of them embracing their new homeland. We grew up watching Grandpa Malfitany make pasta from scratch and smelling the aroma of marinara simmering on the stove for hours. Watching our grandfathers endless pursuit of perfection not only in the kitchen but in everything he did in trying to make a better life for our family has been an inspiration to us. The Malfitany Pasta Company is a homage to Grandpa Malfitany and to all immigrants that have come to this country leaving everything behind in search of the endless opportunities this great nation offers.
